Improve

Process improvement and automation

Fix the process first. Start with one useful win.

We look at how work moves through your office, cut the steps that waste time, and automate the routine tasks a computer can handle.

Bring one priority workflow to a focused 90-minute consultation. We’ll identify practical improvements and, where practical, a quick win or simple automation example. About 48 hours later, you’ll receive concise written next steps and our quote for the follow-up work. You can carry them out yourself or have ABCRON do the quoted work.

Common office workflow issues

These are issues in how work moves through the office.

  • The work lives in one person’s head

When that person is out, the office slows down because no one else knows the steps.

  • The same jobs get done twice

Handoffs, rework, and “just check it again” use up hours without getting more done.

  • Staff do work a computer could do

The same repetitive tasks land on someone’s desk every week. Automate them, and that person has time for work that needs their judgment.

  • A busy stretch means overtime or a new hire

Extra help costs money, and new people walk into the same process that caused the backlog.

  • Your numbers are hard to get to

The figures that show how the business is doing sit in old software or take hours to pull into a report.

  • Mistakes are found long after they happen

When the same figures are keyed into two systems, a wrong entry can sit for weeks. A check that runs as the work happens compares the two and flags what does not match, while it is still quick to fix.

What we do

Start with a useful win, then decide what’s next.

  1. 1

    Consultation and next steps

We focus on one priority workflow and where it gets stuck. We’ll talk through practical process improvements and, where practical, a quick win or simple automation example suited to that workflow. About 48 hours later, you’ll receive concise written next steps and our quote for the follow-up work. You can carry them out yourself or have ABCRON do the quoted work.

  2. 2

    Implementation

If you choose the quoted work, we’ll confirm the scope, price, and timing with you before beginning. Implementation is optional.

Our story

We solved this in our own office first.

ABCRON Enterprises LLC has run a tax and bookkeeping practice since 2007. As the firm grew and the software kept changing, we started bringing on temporary help for busy stretches. Every new person needed training, and someone had to check their work. Before long it looked like we needed another full-time hire.

When we looked closer, the opportunity was in the administrative work surrounding tax preparation. We used automation to simplify reporting, accounts payable and receivable, document routing, and other repeatable steps that were consuming time that should have gone to client work.

Tax and financial information is deeply sensitive, so we designed the system around a deliberate separation. AI helps us design and program administrative workflows, such as a better data-entry process, while client information stays within the firm’s established systems. The result is less repetitive work around each return and more time for the tax professional to prepare and review it.

We took the time to learn and refine this approach in small steps over several years. Along the way we realized other businesses were facing the same problem. Improve puts what we learned to work for you, so you can skip the trial and error.

Cost of hiring

Another hire is the expensive fix.

Rough figures for the DC and Northern Virginia area. Your numbers will vary.

Full-time admin or operations hire

Salaries often run $55k–$85k. Payroll taxes, benefits, tools, and the time you spend managing add the rest.

Temporary help for a busy stretch

$6k–$15k

Often $18–$30+ an hour for 20–30 hours a week over about four months, plus training time and rework.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do we have to hire you for implementation?

No. The written next steps are yours to use however you like. If you do hire us within 45 days, the full $500 is credited toward implementation.

What comes with the next steps?

Our quote for the follow-up work comes with them. You can carry out the next steps yourself or choose the quoted work. There’s no obligation to hire us, and the quote is included either way.

Do we have to buy hardware from you?

No. If the work you choose needs hardware, we can source it at cost plus a fee, or you can buy it yourself.

Couldn’t we just use AI and do this ourselves?

You could. We’ve already done it for our own office, so your project isn’t a first attempt. We also bring an outside view that can spot what’s hard to see from the inside, and you keep running your business while we improve it.

What is included in the consultation?

We’ll focus on one priority workflow, practical ways to improve it, and, where practical, a quick win or simple automation example. About 48 hours later, you’ll receive concise written next steps and our quote for the follow-up work—focused guidance rather than a comprehensive plan or roadmap.
